Weather Sage is a most attractive site devoted to astrological long-range weather forcasting. There are articles, on-line books and even forecasts published by analysts bold enough to risk being proven wrong by events.) Especially interesting is a table of techniques used by various astrometeorologists.

This analysis of New England's 'perfect storm' of 1991 gives an idea of how analysts in the field work. Also interesting is this description of an astrometorologist who was supposedly consulted in the early 60s to do wind forecasts for times of guided missile test shots.

Dr. Krick, along with his staff, prepared the forecast and presented it to Martin Marietta for their hypothetical space launchings in February, on the 6 and 7th. On the morning of February 6, a headline leaped at him from the front page of the Denver Post: 6,500 MILES - TITAN II LIFTS TOP PAYLOAD. On February 7th, yet another headline: POLARIS MAKES 1,800 MILE TRIP DOWN ATLANTIC.

There could hardly be more flattering verification of Krick's forecast for Martin's insoluble problem than these headlines.
The flights of the Titan and Polaris dramatically demonstrated what Krick had long been shouting to the wind - that he and his group were able to make detailed and accurate forecasts far into the future for a given day and place.

Our friends at The Mountain Astrologer have given us this article by a current practitioner.

His techniques seem to involve casting charts at signifigant points in the lunation cycle, and localizing the chart by backfitting aspects to the angles for some place where he then suspects weather events to occur. Sounds computationally intensive.

Of course, people are paying close attention to Mr. Bush's 2nd Saturn return in October. Here is a traditional astrologer who thinks it's bad news for his re-election (it's in his natal 12th house.)

I know next to nothing about Vedic Astrology, so I can't evaluate this article but the author also thinks it's bye-bye Bush in November.

On election conditions in general, this article looks to the Sun-Moon and Mercury-Saturn trines on election day for an indication that this election will not be as confused and ill-resolved as the 2000 election. Let me note that both trines are in watery signs (Cancer-Scorpio) so that perhaps the most we could say is that it'll *feel* well resolved (with murky stuff lurking under the surface from the Scorpion Sun and Mercury.)

Follow the link for the gory details, but a fast summary:

G.W. Bush: b. 7/6/1946 7:26 am EDT New Haven CT.
Sun 13 Cancer 46
Moon 16 Libra 42
Ascendent 7 Leo 06

Mr. Bush is coming up on his second Saturn return on 10/9/2004. His progressed Sun transits conjunct over his natal Mars sometime this year (it's too late to do the arithmetic.)

J. F. Kerry: b. 12/11/1943 7:10 am MWT Denver CO.
Sun 18 Sag 37
Moon 17 Gemini 02
Ascendent 5 Sag 04

Mr. Kerry has 4 natal planets - including the Moon - in Gemini, opposing his Sagittarius Sun. (Not to use partisan slurs, but this suggests both quickness and duality of mind.) His progressed Mars is almost on his natal Mars because it was retrograde until 1973 (end of U.S. involvement in Vietnam,) then went direct.

Much more later, but I'm sleepy now.

The 20th Century English astrologer John Addey pioneered the study of harmonics. Here is a two-bit tour of the subject. Not surprisingly, some people try to assign numerological signifigance to harmonics. Your humble obedient blogger is ignorant of numerology, so cannot intelligently comment on the matter.

Thanx to Joe Perez for putting this up. I guess it's not clear when someone said 'Aha! This is something new" so we don't have angles and houses. But the chart is watery and mutable - Pisces again. And that Sun-Mars-Saturn grand trine in the water signs (plus the Sun-Moon trine in water) is real pretty! There's also that Mars-Venus/Pluto-Jupiter mutable T-square to ponder. The Gemini slot there is empty - so does this mean Sedna's giving us a lot to puzzle over?
